As the oldest city and declared a cultural capital of Europe, Plovdiv has countless names. Our city has been called by dozens of different names throughout the centuries. However, one of the oldest known names is “Pulpudeva.” This is also the name of our boutique hotel. In the first half of the seventh century, the first mass settlements of Slavs began, who, in coexistence with the Thracians, interpreted the name of the city from Philippopolis to Pulpudeva. Later, it transformed into Plovdiv, the name by which it is known to this day.

The elegant and boutique “Pulpudeva Family Hotel” is housed in a building constructed in 1881 by a prominent Plovdiv merchant and industrialist, with features of a partial bunker and rock formations. By the end of 2020, a complete restoration was carried out, transforming this authentic gem.
